I am an Assistant Professor (tenured) and MacGillavry Fellow at the Video & Image Sense Lab at the Informatics Institute at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). I am also affiliated with the Department of Brain and Cognition at the Psychology Research Institute at the UvA.
I study vision in the human brain using brain imaging techniques such as EEG, fMRI and ECoG, in combination with computational models, including deep neural networks. The goal of my research is to find out how the human brain perceives and understands real-world images and videos.
